Work-Integrated Learning Program (Earn & Learn Model):
Objectives:
The objective to conduct the Work-Integrated Learning Skill Certificate, Skill Diploma, Advance Skill Certificate, Advance Skill Diploma Program is to enhance the employability of the youth of India primarily from backward areas by enrolling them in Work-Integrated Skill education & providing On-the-job practical training, to make the youth self-reliant to earn a livelihood.
Concept of Work-Integrated Learning Skill Education Training Program:
- The Industrial & Commercial organizations shall sponsor the student-trainees under this program.
- Student will be deployed in industry / organization as “student trainee” for “On Job Training (OJT).”
- Industry shall pay monthly stipend / scholarship to each student- trainee.
- Student trainee shall go through JOB ROLE on Job Training & simultaneously receive theory related instructions online via live classes or learning Management System.
- Training Facilitator will be responsible for arranging “On-Job Training (OJT)” at allotted industry or commercial organization (sponsoring organization).
It is an excellent example of effective “Industry Institute Collaboration, which simultaneously benefit student trainee, NSDC, University, industry, and Government
Who is Sponsoring Organization:
OJT Sponsoring Organization: An employer/ establishment (Industrial & Commercial Units) is an entity who has a business in any trade or occupation and having infrastructure for providing On the Job Training (OJT). Industrial & Commercial Units would be sponsoring Work Integrated Learning Program by providing on the job practical training to youths and taking care of expenses of training, stipend, and other facilities that would be required during course period.
Courses to be Offered:
- Work Integrated Skill Certificate Course
- Work Integrated Skill Diploma Course
- Work Integrated Advance Skill Certificate Course
- Work Integrated Advance Skill Diploma Course
Duration of Skill Courses & Training:
Skill Education Courses & On Job Training shall be for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months as per curriculum designed by university.
Duration of Skill Courses & Training:
- A candidate who is school or college dropouts, completed or pursuing degree / Diploma course (Any Stream) or may have discontinued studies after 10th class from any recognized institute in India.
- A candidate seeking on job practical training under Work Integrated Learning- Skill Education Program shall be at least 18 years of age and not more than 26 years of age as on the date of registration.
Curriculum of Skill Programs:
- The entire Curriculum (NSQF aligned) shall be framed by university for various skill-based programs.
- Curriculum includes theoretical & practical (On Job Training) inputs to ensure development of requisite skills for proper employability.
- On job training (OJT) is integral component of curriculum & duration of OJT shall not exceed duration mentioned in the curriculum of the courses.
- Theoretical training sessions will be conducted in online mode through LMS or Virtual Classes.
- The student enrolled under Work Integrated Learning Skill Programs (WILP) shall be pursuing courses which are relevant to the industry requirements.
Assessment & Certification:
- Final Skill Education Course Assessment Test shall be conducted as per guidelines issued by university & coordinated by Facilitator.
- All student trainees shall be given a course completion certificate at the end of training period jointly by NSDC & University.
Role of Sponsoring Industrial & Commercial organizations
- To provide On-Job-Training & sponsor the trainees deployed by the facilitator under WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programme) – Skill’s program.
- To reimburse the education & training cost, insurance premium, stipend for trainees and other facility charges including administrative expenses.
- To release the trainee for the training, examination and internal assessment whenever needed during on job training schedule.
- The sponsoring organization shall provide day to day essentials like canteen/ transportation facilities, uniforms, and safety shoes to the student’s trainees enrolled under WILP as per the organization policy.
- The sponsoring organization shall support the university to prepare NSQF aligned curriculum as per requirements & job role of training.
